Biography header

In addition to a professional career on stage and in film, Talia taught creative drama, theatre & performance production University of Winnipeg from 1999 to 2015. She also has many years of experience teaching drama in the public school system.

She has conducted many drama workshops for teachers, actors and community groups. Since publishing her book, Stages: Creative Ideas for Teaching Drama, (2002) she has also developed workshops tailored to fit the groups that she is working with. In 2013 Gordon Shillingford Publishing launched a revised 2nd edition of Stages, and a follow-up book, CUES: Theatrical Training & Projects from Classroom to Stage.
Recent workshops in Devised Theatre have included universities throughout the Philippines, the University of Georgia – Athens, and The Women Playwrights International Conference (WPIC) in Cape Town, South Africa.
From 1987 to 2015 she also acted as an adjudicator in Speech Arts and Drama Festivals throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

After many years in professional theatre and film, education and arts administration in Winnipeg, Talia has recently relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she continues her artistic pursuits. She is acting for both film and stage, directing theatre and writing plays and children’s books.
